JOB DETAILS:
Mopani Copper Mines Plc has operations in Mufulira and Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Company's success has been as a result of its focused approach to improvement and the mutually beneficial relationship enjoyed with its stakeholders - an important sector of which is its employees
The Company seeks the services of Artisan Machinist x 2 The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repair work on all refrigeration equipment to acceptable standards to satisfy the requirements of al departments of the Mine Site

The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to the following:
• Carry out risk assessment of every task and work area prior to beginning of work
• Use the skills of his/her trade to machine components/equipment as may be requested from either a sample or an approved construction drawing
• Receive instructions from the Foreman and plan work accordingly to ensure tasks are executed to the required standards and within set time frame.
• Utilize materials provided or available and the estimated time duration for to be completed to acceptable standards within set cost estimates Inspect the equipment, machinery and tools under his/her custody every day before use and any defects rectified or reported to the Foreman to ensure safe working and avoid accidents
• Maintain good housekeeping of the work area to prevent accidents and maintain good hygiene. On a daily basis, fill in all the relevant shift information in the Job Card as required before knocking off
• Tag his/her job with appropriate job tag and place an appropriate area dispatch for further process • Hand over the filed up job card to the Foreman for every task or job completed in exchange for a new task job.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Advanced TechnicianCraft Certificate in Machining
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
• Good problem-solving skills
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives
