Role Overview
The Mining Captain will oversee mining operations and ensure the execution of daily mining activities is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with operational plans.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Ensure operational compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Manage and guide mining teams to meet production targets.
• Prepare and implement shift schedules for operational efficiency.
• Inspect mining equipment and ensure optimal utilization and maintenance.
• Prepare daily reports on production and operations for senior management.
• Address operational challenges and provide quick resolutions.

Qualifications and Experience
• Grade 12 certificate.
• Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
• Valid Blasting Certificate (BL).
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations.
• Valid Silicosis certificate.
• Fully paid-up member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
