JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary
Our client, located in Woodlands, Lusaka, is seeking to hire a Chef who will oversee kitchen operations, manage food preparation, and ensure the highest standard of culinary excellence. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to menu development, kitchen efficiency, and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Chef will be responsible for:
1. Menu Planning and Execution:
o Developing a creative and diverse menu that aligns with the culinary vision of Woodlands Ash Lodge.
o Incorporating seasonal availability and customer preferences into menu items.
2. Kitchen Management:
o Supervising kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
o Ensuring kitchen efficiency while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
3. Food Quality and Presentation:
o Delivering consistent food quality and presentation in accordance with established standards.
4. Cost Control:
o Monitoring and controlling food costs to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
5. Food Safety and Innovation:
o Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
o Staying updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and ingredients to bring innovation to the menu.
6. Team Collaboration:
o Promoting a positive and collaborative work environment with open communication and teamwork.

Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate should possess:
1. Experience:
o A minimum of two years of experience as a Chef in a similar culinary environment.
2. Education and Certifications:
o Relevant culinary certifications (preferred).
3. Skills and Attributes:
o Strong leadership and kitchen management skills.
o Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
o Creativity and passion for culinary arts.
o Knowledge of current food trends and advanced culinary techniques.
o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork.
