JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the Northwestern region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km southwest of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Multi-skilled Equipment Operator.

Role Summary
Reporting to the Township Services Coordinator, your duties will include but not limited to the following;

Responsibilities
• Operating machinery to move large quantities of materials such as soil, gravel, concrete, and rocks.
• Maintaining work area by removing excess material from job site.
• Inspecting equipment for defects and repairing machines as needed.
• Operating equipment to load materials onto trucks or into place
• Following safety regulations to protect yourself and others from injury or death while operating equipment
• Reading a blueprint or other drawing to determine the best course of action to take while operating machinery
• Performing work such as grading roadbeds, leveling land, excavating foundations for structures, and paving surfaces with material, gravel, or concrete, mowing designated areas of grass including land clearing where required.
• Operating the equipment to move soil, gravel, or other materials to create smooth surfaces on roads or other construction sites

Experience & Qualifications
• Full Grade 12 School certificate
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating TLB/Grader/Tractor Mower equipment’s
• Trained and certified to operate TLB/Grader/Tractor Mower equipment’s
• Ability to identify and repair any issues with the equipment’s
• Able to read maps and plans
• Ability to show initiative and have good interpersonal skills.
• Must have good communication skills in the English language.
