JOB DETAILS:
To supervise stores and maintain the prescribed inventory replenishing items according to business needs and implementing purchase audits and item transfers.
MAIN DUTIES
• Collaborate with procurement staff to ensure timely acquisition of supplies and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods and materials, ensuring accurate inventory records.
• Inspect incoming goods for quality and compliance with specifications, addressing any discrepancies.
• Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, and customer service.
• Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention
• Develop systems to monitor the storage of inventory to ensure continuous availability of key inputs to production and routinely consumed products.
• Implement and improve inventories by monitoring minimum and maximum re-order levels.
• Identify and recommend redundant and obsolete stocks for disposal in line with the company policy.
• Carry out stock management operations in line with set stores policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance to Public Procurement Act and storage procedures and Financial Management Act.
• Provide input and suggestions on areas of improvement for the Procurement and Stores policies.
• Conduct spot checks to verify the accuracy of stock records by ensuring that inventories are secured and safe to prevent losses and damages.
• Raise requisitions for buying and ensure requested goods are delivered on time.
• Implement cost saving initiatives for all procurement of goods and services.
• Ensure continuous availability of key inputs to production and routinely consumed products.
• Track value addition of procured goods.
• Ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources.
• Ensure departmental KPIs are met
• Ensure inspection and certification of goods in line with user department’s specification
• Ensure compliance to Public Procurement and Finance Acts.

Academic /Professional Qualifications:
• Full grade 12 certificate (5 ‘0’ levels) with credit or better in Mathematics and English
• CIPS Level 6 or bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply or bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent.
• At least 4 years’ experience in a management position.
