JOB DETAILS:
Lusaka Wood Working and Furniture Company is looking for skilled thatchers with specialist skills in Roof Thatch and Carpentry Service.

SKILLS REQUIRED
• Have thatching skills as a craft in building a roof with dry vegetation such as straw, water reed, sedge (Cladium mariscus), rushes, heather, or palm branches, layering the vegetation so as to shed water away from the inner roof.
• Have basic knowledge of roofing and carpentry, including designing trusses for thatch roof, purlins, rafters and chords and webbing posts.
• Have knowledge of thatch roof heat conductivity and service spaces such as electric power lines.
• Have knowledge of wood bolting and strutting, including tying adjoining materials such as thatch and felts to ridge lines using panel points and shoe angles with anchor plates, anchor bolts, twines, and wires
• Have knowledge about thatch roof pitch angles, so that Water is shed more efficiently
