Entity: Ulmart Meat House (MAZABUKA TOWN)

Position Summary
A Cashier, or Retail Cashier, is responsible for processing cash, debit, credit and check transactions using a cash register or other point-of-sale system in a retail environment. Their duties include balancing the cash register, making change, recording purchases, processing returns and scanning items for sale.

Cashier duties and responsibilities
1. Cashiers are responsible for maintaining positive impressions for the companies they work for. Examples of Cashier duties and responsibilities include:
2. Process sales transactions
3. Calculate the cost of products or services
4. Accept payments
5. Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
6. Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
7. Answer customer questions about products or services
8. Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
9. Report issues with equipment
10. Work as a team to meet store sales goals
11. Handle customer complaints
12. Process layaways, returns and exchanges
13. Maintain clean and tidy checkout area
14. Assist in stocking and rotating merchandise
15. Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
16. Stay up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements and product information

Qualifications
The ideal candidates for the positions available should possess the following;
1. A minimum of one year experience in a cashiering or basic accounting position
2. Must have a minimum of a full grade 12 certificate
3. A strong character with leadership instincts
4. Strong manual and mental dexterity
5. Highest level of honesty and discipline with finances
