JOB DETAILS:
The Civil Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified serving Officers and the general public to fill vacant positions of Regional Tourism Coordinators in two (2) regions under the Ministry of Tourism.
The Regional Tourism Coordinator position is at Management level and reports directly to the Director, Tourism. The Regional Tourism Coordinator is responsible for undertaking tourism research, promote investment and facilitate development and diversification of tourism at Regional Level. It shall also facilitate Tourism Development Fund activities and regulate Casinos and Hotel Managers in the Region.

STATION: (1) EASTERN REGION COVERING EASTERN PROVINCE, CHIPATA.
(2) LUAPULA REGION, COVERING LUAPULA PROVINCE, MANSA.

JOB PURPOSE
To coordinate tourism development and implementation of compatible tourism policies, plans and programmes in order to promote sustainable tourism in the region.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of Tourism and shall be responsible for:
• Coordinating the dissemination and enforcement of tourism regulations in order to ensure tourism quality assurance and community involvement in tourism.
• Coordinating the promotion of tourism investment in order to enhance growth and development of the sector.
• Coordinating the implementation of bilateral, regional and multilateral development cooperation projects, agreements, conventions and treaties in the tourism sector in order to enhance tourism development.
• Coordinating the administration of the Tourism Development Fund in order to ensure efficient utilisation of the funds.
• Coordinating tourism research in order to facilitate tourism product and business development.
• Coordinating the development and diversification of tourism product in conjunction with relevant stakeholders in order to enhance the attractiveness of the destination.
• Coordinating the provision of tourism extension services to tourism SMES in order to support their growth and development.
• Coordinating the registration of hotel managers in order to promote professionalism in the hospitality industry.
• Coordinating human and other resources in order to facilitate achievement of set objectives.
• Coordinates the development of work plans and implementation of performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
The Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• A Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) Credits including English Language and Mathematics or its equivalent;
• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business Administration. Tourism Management and related field from a recognized University;
• A Master's Degree in Economics, Business Administration and Tourism Management will be an added advantage;
• Six (6) years working experience in the Tourism Industry; Excellent Organizational, Interpersonal and Communication Skills;
• Good leadership and team building skills with capacity to deal with Local National and International agencies:
• Traceable record of fundraising, networking and resource mobilization;
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience, preferably in Tourism Management;
• Good Conflict Management and Negotiation Skills
• Computer literate;
• Demonstrate the ability to commercialize Tourism in the Region;
• Demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional Customer Service Satisfaction; and Minimum age between eighteen (18) and forty-five (45) years.
