JOB DETAILS:
Role Overview
The Senior Safety Officer will develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment across all mining operations. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety (OHS) programs.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify risks and recommend improvements.
• Lead safety training and awareness programs for all employees and contractors.
• Investigate workplace incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and training activities.
• Provide guidance and support to management on safety-related matters.

Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSAS-ISO 18001).
• Grade 12 certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety-related role.
• Valid Silicosis certificate.
• Fully paid-up member of OHSAS.
• Strong understanding of Zambian safety laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Level of Education: Associate Degree
