1.1. Background

PIN’s office in Zambia is currently located in Mongu, Western province. PIN’s programme focusses on rural development using a multi-sectoral approach (agriculture, nutrition, food security, WASH, saving groups, maternal and child health, energy) and on good governance
1.2. JOB SUMMARY
The nutrition Supervisor will be responsible for conducting trainings of Community Monitors on CMAM and IYCF, conducting weekly monitoring visits to each target health facility and identifying any issues arising during the delivery of SAM treatment services. They will work with MoH and Community Monitors to ensure accurate data collection and reporting takes place. Nutrition Supervisor will directly report to Emergency Nutrition Project Manager and will supervise Community Monitors in his/her target district. .

1.3.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1.3.1 Conducting training of Community Monitors on CMAM, IYCF and social issues affecting access to these services (including understanding barriers for women, girls and other vulnerable groups to access treatment services, adherence to treatment protocols, etc.)
1.3.2 Conducting weekly monitoring visits to each target health facility (monitoring the delivery of SAM treatment supplies, stock management monitoring, monitoring of SAM treatment delivery)
1.3.3 Identifying any issues arising from the delivery of SAM treatment services and suggesting concrete solutions to address them 1.3.4. Working with health facilities and the MoH and UNICEF to ensure accurate data collection and regular and accurate reporting of key programme indicators
1.3.5. Conducting quarterly health center staff onsite mentorship and supervision
1.3.6. Tracking monitoring data from community – health centre – District Health Office – Provincial Health Office (including critique and adequate response)
1.3.7. Any other responsibilities as assigned.
Project Implementation
• Leads the process of hiring Community Monitors
• Oversees the process of community volunteer mobilization and training
• Mobilization of the communities to engage in CMAM programme
• Organizing community sensitization strategies, conducting periodic mass MUAC screening in target areas in collaboration with Community Monitors
• Conducts stock management monitoring in target health facilities
• Support PM and MoH in ensuring that health facilities and staff are equipped to roll out CMAM services
• Work with the Project Manager in rolling out Community Feedback Response Mechanisms (CFRM) through working with Community Monitors
Stock Management Monitoring
• Monitor if all health facilities/sites have adequate supplies to deliver uninterrupted health care services through identifying needs, informing line manager on regular basis.
• Follow up with Emergency Nutrition Project Manager to provide analysis of RUTF and drug consumptions per site/health centre in relation to protocols in force
• Provide regular monthly/weekly inventory; provide a monthly/weekly requisition and consumption report along with case load per site and share with the PM
• Ensure rational use of all medical equipment and stationaries
Capacity Building
• Conducts training of Community Monitors and their capacity building on CMAM and IYCF practices
• Train and support Community Monitors in the roll out and use of CFRM
• Conducts quarterly health center staff onsite mentorship and supervision
• Together with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF leads the development of the methodology for CMAM and IYCF training modules for Community Monitors as well as community volunteers and health workers
• Prepares training contents and learning materials
• Prepares training curricula including selection of interactive training methods
• Support and supervise community monitors in the selection, coordination and training of community members to deliver the family MUAC approach
Project Management
• Coordinates and liaises with community leaders, MoH on ward and district level, community volunteers or any other relevant stakeholders
• Responsible for community work (screening, mobilization, community dialogue to gather feedback from community members and ensuring achievement of project results and indicators on the district level
• Identifies and addresses any issues arising during SAM and MAM treatment delivery (including referrals, admissions, treatment and follow-ups)
• Ensure the cohesive delivery of OTP programme
• Oversees the work of Community Monitors and, if needed, attends monthly reporting community volunteers meetings
Monitoring and Evaluation
• Tracks monitoring data from community – health centre – District Health Office – Provincial Health Office and ensures regular reporting of project indicators in his/her target district takes place
• Conducts weekly monitoring visits to each target health facility to monitor the environment of SAM treatment delivery
• Oversees monthly community dialogue to gather feedback from community members
Project Administration
• Stores official project documentation in orderly manner (both soft and hard copies)
• Ensures that project documentation is properly generated, approved & archived in the internal databases – ELO, Sharepoint etc., according to PIN and donor guidelines

1.4. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in medicine, nursing, midwifery, public health, nutrition, development or other relevant qualification
Skills & Experience
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in primary health care program
• 1 year experience in CMAM program
• Excellent report-writing skills is required
• Fluent in written and spoken English and able to communicate in Silozi or other local language
• Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Ability to use MS Office
• Experience in delivering engaging and interactive trainings to a varied audience
• Team management experience with similar programs
• Ability to observe and to provide feedback on the activities
• Ability to manage staff according to local culture and organization policies
• Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficulties
• Commitment to and understanding of PIN’s aims, values and principles
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
• Ability to assess problems and recommend solutions • Experience in nutrition and anthropometric surveys
• Experience in using mobile data collection tools (such as Kobo toolbox)
