JOB DETAILS:
Konkola Mineral Resources Limited (KMRL) a subsidiary of Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) is one of the largest copper producers in Zambia. It operates underground and open pit mines located at Nchanga and Konkola. KMRL's growth trajectory presents exciting opportunities to leverage minerals and human resources to enhance stakeholder value and become Zambia's pride.
To support the vision KMRL would like to recruit qualified and experienced individuals for the below positions in Commercial Department:
Commercial Officers x7

Job Purpose:
Processing of purchase requisitions from KMRL's end-users into purchase orders and facilitating the implementation of commercial activities that support the organization's operational requirements.

Main Roles & Responsibilities will include:
• Performing routine procurement duties in line with company policies and procedures
• Sourcing (local/international) of required items, meeting with vendors to compare products and negotiating on lowest cost, best quality and delivery timelines
• Obtaining authorization for orders and regularly chasing backorders where applicable to prevent stock outs
• Effective and efficient monitoring and tracking of functional metrics to reduce expenses
• Updating procurement records and ensure reports are done accordingly
• Ensure timely closure of orders and that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders Maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis
• Perform bid analysis and make recommendations regarding purchases
• Communicating with the client and providing tracking reports on goods en-route
• Establish and maintain cordial relationships with both internal customers and external vendors → Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies, Purchasing & Supply- CIPS level 6 or equivalent Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply
• Good computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Good analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills
