The following vacancy is open at ADET (Agronomy Development Extension Training) Center in Chisamba.
ADET Section Supervisor x 1
Reporting to: ADET Manager
The incumbent will be required to perform the following duties:

Operations
• Ensure all ADET field operations are performed in a timely manner and to expected standards in order to deliver expected results
• Ensure successful implementation of trial protocols alongside the Trials and Development Coordinator
Maintain equipment and machinery in good working condition with regularly servicing, permitting timely use with cost effectiveness in mind
• Maintain the farm environment to the highest standards with clean roads and fire-guards to prevent bush fires

Labour Supervision
• Timeously plan general labor resources aligned with daily work requirements
• Manage absenteeism and abscondment in a responsible manner in order to cultivate a culture of responsibility and ownership on the part of general workers
• Attend to general disputes amongst general labor force and forward to line manager and People and Culture, when required
• Continuously update management on pertinent issues and work progress of the workforce

Trials and Development, Training Plots and Agroforestry
• In liaison with line manager, Trial & Development Supervisor and ADET Trainer, ensure successful implementation of trial & development programs
• Oversee management of the Agroforestry nursery, transplant and maintain established woodlots
• Keep accurate time sheets pertaining to labor usage per CoP (Cost of Production) trials
• Oversee barn development projects and construction

Crop Input Stock Inventory
• Maintain accurate records pertaining to crop inputs; stock on hand, used and returned
• Maintain accurate records of miscellaneous farm tools and equipment

Farm Environment
• Regular liaison with ADET Manager and EHS Supervisor to ensure ADET is maintained to the expected, environmental standards
• Ensure field operations are implemented within the safest framework of Good Agricultural Practices

• A good understanding of safety procedures.
