Bureau Veritas Zambia requires the services of an accountant based in Lusaka.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels; credit or better in Mathematics and English Language being a must. Full ACCA, ZICA or CIMA or bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
• Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
• Analytical mind with aptitude in math.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Valid Driver’s licence
• Ability to work under pressure
• Highly motivated and flexible
• Proven organisational skills and a team player
Job Specification
• Management of the local team of 4 people to ensure Bureau Veritas Zambia is compliant with the local legislation and all finance and accounting matters are up to date and sent to the Shared Service centre (SSC) in Johannesburg in due time.
• Coordinate Financial annual audits and prepare the statutory financial statements – annually with the statutory auditors under the control of the SSC.
• In charge of all the statutory returns and payments (PAYE, NAPSA, VAT, WTAX, Income Tax and Workers Compensation Fund and all other legal obligations to make sure Bureau Veritas Zambia is compliant with the local legislation.
• In charge of the invoicing of the entity, revenue recognition and cash Collection
• In charge of local procurement and sending all the documentation to the SSC for payment in due time. Ensure that expenses are recognised in the correct period and payables are accurate.
• Petty Cash Management via the use of prepaid cards under the supervision of the SSC.
• Financial management: analysis of Monthly reports, review of balance sheets.
• In charge of the asset register maintenance and reconciliation with the balance sheet CAPEX account.
• Admin and HR budgeting and consolidation of the burea
