JOB DETAILS:
MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
To impart knowledge and skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students in order to develop them into doctors and medical professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. Prepares and participates in the preparation of departmental and faculty work plans to achieved objectives and programmes.
2. Develops and design course curriculum and study modules covering all areas of study in Anatomy.
3. Prepares teaching materials and lesson plans for subject taught that meets the level of study, 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year, etc. and course objectives.
4. Delivers lectures to the students taking degree and postgraduate degree courses in subject taught (Only PhD holders should deliver lectures to postgraduates) and counsels students academically so that they can achieve their highest potential.
5. Undertakes course evaluation, review and modification to suit students’ training and learning needs.
6. Prepares examination papers, tests and assignments and marks students’ written examination papers in the subject(s) taught.
7. Conducts experiments and demonstrations as part of instruction of students, supervising students’ laboratory and other practical work in order to ensure accuracy of work.
8. Carries out field training such as clinical work, evening classes, in-service and post graduate supervision. (Only PhD holders should supervise postgraduate students).
9. Plans for assigned research programmes and projects, making estimates of time, staff and equipment needed and financial costs for approval by the Head of Department.
10. Undertakes assigned research activities, making recommendations on practical methods of applying research results to supervisor.
11. Writes scholarly materials/papers arising out of research and other studies for publication and/or dissemination through various fora.
12. Presents papers/materials at seminars, workshops, conferences and participates in conferences both locally and internationally.
13. Participates and contributes to Departmental meetings and other meetings assigned or appointed to.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Grade 12 School University Entrance,
• Degree in Medicine
• Master of Science Degree in Human Anatomy from a registered/accredited University
• PhD in the field is an added advantage
• 5 years teaching experience at a university.
