JOB DETAILS:
• The Role
Ideal candidates will be responsible for assessing the electrical systems of equipment and making repairs where necessary including workshop to onsite general low voltage electrical (mining), maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs on Sandvik mobile equipment whilst maintaining availability, minimizing costs also ensuring Customer Site and Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions safety standards are followed.
Area of Responsibility
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Adhere to the Sandvik Environmental Health and Safety policy
• Comply with applicable legal requirements
• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety procedures
• Perform risk assessments before undertaking any task
• Participate in hazard identification and reporting
• Participate in incident/near miss investigations
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) all the time
• Maintain good housekeeping at a workplace
• Carry out general low voltage electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on Sandvik drill rigs whilst maintaining availability and minimizing costs.
• Performing electrical maintenance duties as directed and as per maintenance plans, to a standard that maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation.
• Perform fault finding and repairs, using electrical schematics
• Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity
• Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records including specific site records
Your Profile
• Advanced Certificate/Diploma in Engineering with 3 years’ relevant experience in surface or underground mining or a Technicians Trade Certificate with 4 years’ experience in surface mining or underground
• Experience in maintaining Sandvik Equipment.
• Medical Certification to work in a mining environment
• Engineering Institute of Zambia Membership
• Ability to work under minimum supervision
• Troubleshooting skills
