1.0 Background:

YWCA is implementing a COVID 19 Grant under the Global Fund Grant supported through the Churches Health Association (CHAZ). the overall goal of the grant is to contribute toward the prevention of COVID 19 transmission in communities based in Mazabuka district of Zambia.

As part of implementing the rolling out of project activities, YWCA seeks to engage a consultant to Develop material for online trainings and sensitization – of communities as well as of law enforcement and healthcare Workers in Zambia.

The main purpose of the development of these materials is converting the content and approach so that it works for online trainings, as well as internet access throughout Zambia and also to focus on raising awareness among the general public on COVID 19, , with emphasis on ensuring that the general public, health care workers and law enforcers are equipped with information on COVID 19 and related consequences health, economic and social.

The objective of this consultancy is to fulfill the following:

1. Raising Awareness: On the phenomena of COVID 19

2. Educating the general public: on the risks and dangers associated with COVID 19 including methods/means used for prevention, transmission, testing, treatment and vaccination to ensure that the general public is aware. And also to provide other available information on COVID 19 that will enhance the understanding on COVID in a simplified manner.

3. Encouraging vaccination including the booster: Including outlining different vaccines available and related boosters.

2.0 General Functions:

Under the overall supervision of the Executive Director, YWCA and the direct supervision of the Programmes Manager, the Consultant will perform the following tasks:

Presentation of preliminary concept ideas for the consultancy

The consultant will be tasked to develop 3 online training materials as follows;

  • Online sensitisation materials for the community,

  • Online training materials for the health care workers and

  • Online training materials for the law enforcers.

The consultant may propose additional inputs to the methodology.

3.0 Deliverables

  1. Presentation of inception report 2nd March 2022

  2. Development of the 3 on line training materials 6th March 2022

  3. Submission of draft online training materials 6th  March 2022

  4. Review and update of online training materials 9th March 2022

  5. Review and validation meeting 12th March 2022.

  6. Finalization of documents and submission to YWCA by 16th March 2022.

4.0 Timeframe of the Services

The duration of the assignment is 2 weeks. Time extension will be on the basis of mutually agreed terms and unavoidable circumstances.

5.0 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced university degree in Public Health, Social Sciences and Communications  or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience;

  • Excellent writing and communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with government authorities especially MOH and other institutions mandated to work on health related issues

  • Ability to research, interpret information, identify and analyse problems and propose solutions;

  • Track record in designing media communication products.

  • Public Relations/Communication/Advertising an asset

6.0. Selection Method

Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Consultants Qualification Selection set out in the advertisement.
