The Main Purpose Of The Job
• The Business Development Manager is motivated and experienced with a strong background in science and laboratory technologies to lead the expansion of our healthcare solutions and medical devices in the Eswatini market. The incumbent will combine their scientific expertise with strategic business acumen to identify opportunities, build partnerships, and drive growth in the healthcare sector. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare technologies, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in business development.

Key Responsibilities
Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:
• Conduct comprehensive research to identify trends, gaps, and emerging needs in the healthcare solutions and medical devices sector within Eswatini.
• Analyse local healthcare infrastructure and regulatory environment to tailor solutions that align with market demands and compliance requirements.
• Identify potential clients, distributors, and partners to establish a strong network within the region.

Business Strategy and Partnerships:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a robust business development strategy for entering and expanding in the Eswatini healthcare market.
• Formulate strategic partnerships with local healthcare institutions, government bodies, and medical equipment suppliers to enhance distribution channels and market presence.
• Establish relationships with healthcare professionals and associations to gain insights into local medical practices and challenges.

Solution Customization and Technical Presentations:
• Work closely with the technical team to deeply understand the features, functionalities, and applications of our healthcare solutions and devices.
• Customize and adapt products to meet the specific needs and preferences of healthcare providers in Eswatini, ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding product capabilities and implementation.
Sales and Revenue Generation
• Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing relationships.
• Build a strong sales pipeline by actively seeking out potential clients and maintaining regular engagement with leads.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop persuasive sales collateral and proposals that highlight the benefits and technical aspects of our healthcare solutions.
Project Management and Implementation:
• Oversee the successful implementation of healthcare projects, ensuring they are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with client requirements.
• Work closely with the technical team to address any challenges that arise during project implementation and ensure seamless execution.
• Maintain open communication with clients to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
Market Intelligence and Reporting:
• Stay informed about advancements and trends in healthcare technologies, medical devices, and healthcare practices.
• Regularly gather and analyze market intelligence, competitive activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies.
• Provide timely reports to senior management on business development activities, pipeline progress, and market insights.

Key Decisions
• Decides on developing business development strategy for the territory
• Drafts budget and oversees its implementation.
• Decides on types of trainings to be carried out and their frequency
• Decides how business development campaigns are conducted, as well as marketing and promotional plans.
• Decides on which new markets to venture into.
• Decides which new products and value added services to come up with

Supervisory Controls
• Receives supervision from the Regional Manager through meetings, emails, memos and interaction on a daily basis.
• Receives direction and input from the Head Of Healthcare in Head Office

Educational Qualifications
• Bachelors’ degree in a Health Care related field.
• Master’s degree / MBA will be an added advantage.
• Marketing diplomas or certificates or any business qualification such as
• Digital Platforms will be an add on.

Experience Required
• At least five years in a similar role
• At least three years supervisory and leading experience.
