Job Purpose
The Commercial Lubricants Engineer shall be responsible for prospection and maintenance of business to achieve the set sales budget in Lubricants and Specialties. Be responsible for the prospecting, building, and maintaining of retail, automotive workshops, and independent garages customers such as TQAS concepts in conjunction with retail Team.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintenance of a solid data base of Consumer Customers, including potential clients
• Development of backcourt sales through the bulk sales
• Responsible for the sales of automotive lubricants to retailers
• Implementation of programs & initiatives like periodic promotions, trade shows.
• Monitor the requirement of new products type and quantities based on the market need.
• Manage lubricant products equivalent & compatibility; and conduct lubes surveys at customer sites
• Communicate and handle all product complaints at customer level and liaise with Product Support Technical Team.
• Responsible to track any product trial, take oil samples, interpret oil sample reports, discuss & feedback to mine engineers & maintenance, request dispensing equipment.
• Follow up service fee from the portfolio & Improve sales condition of existing customers.
• Prepare and present weekly activity report as well as monthly report to the Specialties Manager.
• Ensure implementation of the terms & conditions of sales, credit limits and payment terms of each customer
• Verify invoices for price irregularities and make certain the corrections are immediately carried out.
• Ensure that the market watch & survey, price survey and analysis are done monthly
• Liaise with operations to make sure that faults reported by consumer customers are promptly attended to.
• In liaison with Lubricants Sales Engineers, provides technical support
• Ensure all attendants in the network are trained to handle and sale lubricants products.
• Arrange and conduct suitable lubrication training for customers, Distributor salesforce and Retail attendants
• Manage branding and visibility of lubricants in DIY and Distributor channels
• Conduct lubrication survey for DIY/Distributor channel
• Take the lead in the recruitment and development of Resellers/Distributors for Small and Bulk SKU’s
• Manage and motivate a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their success.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, distributors, and partnerships.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry influencers.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or related)
• Must have a minimum of at least 3-4 years working experience in Lubricant Business
• Must have a strong Commercial/Mining background
• Must have proven Lubs/Oil Sales and Marketing experience with the mining and construction sector
• In-depth knowledge of the lubricants industry, including market trends, competitors, and customer needs.
• Ability to communicate (both oral and written)
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to find information.
• High integrity
• Cooperative and able to work in a team.
• Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a focus on exceeding targets and driving growth.
• Willingness to travel as required.
