JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE:
To deliver high-quality teaching significantly contribute to the academic development of the Law School by instructing both undergraduate LLB programmes and specialist modules. The aim is to provide exceptional education and training, fostering students’ growth to become future leaders in the legal sector.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Deliver comprehensive lectures and tutorials across various law disciplines, including Law of Torts, Jurisprudence, and Clinical Legal Education.
2. Develop and continuously update course materials and curricula to align with current academic and industry standards.
3. Evaluate and grade student assignments, projects, and examinations with fairness and timeliness.
4. Offer academic support and mentorship to students, including guidance on academic and career development.
5. Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the academic community through publications and presentations, while also participating in public initiatives.
6. Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and other university activities.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
8. Stay abreast of advancements in the field of law and integrate relevant knowledge into teaching practices.
9. Utilize technology effectively to support blended learning, including online teaching platforms and digital resources.
10. Foster an engaging and interactive online learning environment to enhance student participation and learning outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate.
2. A minimum of LLM.
3. A Doctorate (Ph.D.) is preferred
4. Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Methodology.
5. Admission to practice law in Zambia or any common law jurisdiction (preferred).
6. International legal experience (preferred).
7. All qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
EXPERIENCE:
1. 3+ years of tertiary-level teaching or equivalent industry experience.
2. Proven experience in curriculum development.
3. Strong research and publications record.
4. Experience with blended learning (online and face-to-face).
