JOB DETAILS:
Position : Contracts Manager
Department : CPM
Supervisor : Business Line Manager – TLD
Job Summary: Oversee our cost per measure contract for rock drilling tools for all blast holes drill machines at Kansanshi Mine in North Western Province of Zambia. You will be expected to develop and manage a site based team that will deliver maximum services of rock drilling tools and manage the cost per measure in cost efficiency and other agreed KPIs while ensuring the highest safety level is maintained at all times. The overall intention is to deliver the maximum value to the customer in terms of supporting them achieve their production targets at minimum cost while delivering sustainable healthy business for Epiroc Zambia.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day to day operations and activities for the contract; attending meetings with Mine management & represent Epiroc’s interest while ensuring mines satisfaction at all times.
• Ensure availability of RDT all machines as per contract KPIs, while supporting the customers’ efforts to maximize utilize/drill meters.
• To closely follow up and report on our contract performance by tracking life of tools, cost per meter per tool, total tools cost per meter, fuel consumption per meter, machines availability ( Rock Drilling Tools) and other key indicators including preparation and timely submission of the relevant reports.
• To present Rock Drilling Tools reports in the monthly production review meetings.
• Work closely with Logistics responsible for logistics, rock drilling tools availability and ensure good inventory management to run the contract.
• Responsible for ensuring correct contract staff compliment at the site.
• Responsible for site staff training and competency development through Performance Management System.
• Formulate and maintain all Risk and Opportunities identified under the Contract in collaboration with the relevant managers and marketing teams;
• Leading your team in the development, implementation and promotion of a proactive safety culture among employees, with the objective of producing positive safety behavior throughout Epiroc.
• Enforce Epiroc policies and guidelines as described in “The Way we do Things”.
• Ensure that all employees in area of responsibility maintain a high ethical standard.
Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements
• Ensures implementation and maintenance of the SHEQ Management Systems in the department
• You are to maintain the following levels of safe practice in your department:
• Fatal Injuries – 0
• Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) – 0
• Property damage – 0
• Conducts monthly SHEQ meeting
• Ensures the SHEQ representative conducts daily SHEQ talks and monthly SHEQ inspections.
• Ensures own safety and that of others.
• Ensures compliance to legal requirements.
Ensures customer requirements are satisfied/met.

Requirements (Education and experience)
• Degree in Mechanical/Mining Engineering or equivalent through experience.
• A result oriented & experienced Management professional with at least 10 years of experience in handling large RDT Cost per Measure Agreements and Service Operations within surface mines.
• Good understanding of Rock Drilling Tools performance analysis, including discard analysis, repairing of DTH tools including grinding of button bits, drilling practices, function of breakout bench and grinding machines, and safety standards.
• The candidate should demonstrate past experience in mentoring, coaching and developing local technicians to a high level of competence.
• Good understanding of best drilling practice, drilling techniques and rig operation knowledge would be an advantage.
Key knowledge, attributes, skills and abilities
• Energetic, focused and able to enforce high level of work standards, ethics and discipline required in a mine site based service contract.
• A person who enjoys leading a multi-cultural team and fostering an open collaborative culture, Mining operation knowledge, drill & blasting knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Technical knowledge of drill rigs machines would be a distinct advantage.
