JOB DETAILS:
• Reporting to the Superintendent – Maintenance Reliability, you will be responsible for the consolidation and rebuild of parts for planned shutdowns and services within the Maintenance area. Manage, co-ordinate rotable repair and return process for mobile fleet. Manage and supervise rotables team and coordinate with Reliability and Condition Monitoring coordinator on root cause analysis of all repairable items.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure long term planned maintenance parts requirements are scheduled, reviewed, and monitored.
• Develop 12 Monthly repairable item maintenance plan in line with component budget replacement plan.
• Develop component serialization process and coordinate the implementation with relevant maintenance teams.
• Conduct QA/QC inspection of all repairable items to ensure reliability of repaired/refurbished component.
• Lead QA inspection of all registered vendors providing external repair services to ensure quality of repairs aligns with business requirement with regards to reliability and safety.
• Manage disposal of uneconomical to repairs spare process and maintain component population to levels that minimize business risks and waste.
• Management of rotable spares database with correct component serialization and OEM part numbers.
• Actively participate in identification and implementation of rebuild cost reduction initiatives and provide requirement for their implementation.
• Conduct routine inspections on all repairable items sent offsite and track repair completions against the committed timelines.
• Ensure monthly repairable item trackers is updated and clear status of repairs aligns with long terms PCR plan.
• Accountable for completion of all tasks identified in the Management of Repairable Item SOP to the specified quality and timelines as assigned to this role.
• Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
• Ensure personnel are adequately inducted in their work area and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures applying at LMC.
• Actively contribute to site safety policy and new initiatives and implement change as directed by the General Manager and management team.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following essential requirements:
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ or Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution.
• Minimum 5 years work experience in managing rotable processes in a reputable organization.
• Must have maintenance reliability experience with ability to conduct RCA.
• Previous experience in maintenance planning will be an added advantage.
• Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of warehouse management principles and practice.
• Experience in the use of a recognised CMMS preferably SAP
• Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian driver’s licence or be able to obtain one.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
• Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
• Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
• A member of Engineering Institution of Zambia.
