JOB DETAILS:
BlueCode Systems Limited is an ICT company that is a leader in systems and platform development and program support for clients in various industries.
Role: SMS Counselor
Objective of role: This role will be responsible for carrying out counselling sessions primarily over various digital platforms and technologies.

Key Outcomes
• Providing responsible and helpful advice digitally and referring them for other social services while maintaining high level confidentiality.
• Making yourself available to adolescents and young people whenever they are in need.
• Educating adolescents and young people about social issues like Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Domestic Violence etc.
• Contacting the authorities if you suspect that the child is at risk.
• Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health.
• Encourage Adolescents and Young People to discuss emotions and experiences.
• Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, self-image, stress and suicide.
• Help Adolescents and Young People define goals, plan action and gain insight.
• Supervise and interact with children or teenagers, assisting them in resolving problems and ensuring their physical and emotional needs are being met.
• Scheduling and coordinating activities, meeting with social workers and other professionals and writing reports.

Requirements
• A Degree or Diploma in Counselling, child psychology, Social Work or a similar field is preferred.
• Valid Practicing license
• Experience with at-risk youth (either personally or professionally) is an advantage.
• A passion for helping children to succeed.
• A calm and reassuring demeanor.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• No prior criminal offenses.
• Ability to offer good advice in difficult circumstances.

Remuneration package
Fixed Term Contract Length: 6 Months, renewable subject to operational requirements
