JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Efficiently support Credit Department’s management of information pertaining to the Bank’s lending activities within the Credit portfolio. This responsibility involves facilitating the creation of pertinent policies and evaluating the credit portfolio’s performance, composition, concentrations, impairments, etc. These evaluations are then measured against key Bank policies such as the Credit Policy, Risk Appetite Statement, Business Underwriting Standards, and portfolio indicators.
Effectively handle the Bank’s regulatory reporting obligations to entities like the Bank of Zambia, other regulatory bodies, External Auditors, and international institutions. This collaborative effort is conducted in coordination with the Finance Department.
Under the supervision of the Head Corporate Credit the following are among the Job Key

Responsibilities:
• Ensure preparation and review of the loan book within agreed (SLAs)
• Ensure accurate preparation of Bank of Zambia prudential returns within internal SLAs and regulatory timelines.
• Ensuring accurate and timely credit loss assessments in line with applicable accounting standard (IFRS 9 ) and Banking regulations (SI 31).
• Maintaining expected loan loss model data by regularly updating the loan portfolio data, historical charge off data, internal decisions data and external economic factors (recalibration of model)
• Create credit portfolio reports that are directed to both the Board Risk Committee and the main Board.
• Create tracking reports that meticulously monitor Underwriting Standards against corresponding Risk Triggers and performance indicators.
• Carry out modification assessments on facilities in line with accounting standards.
• Support the development, implementation and review of policies and procedure manuals within the MIS departments e.g the IFRS 9 framework.
• Track and close any internal and external audit exceptions with approved target timelines.
• Generate well-analyzed management reports to support management decision-making.
• Prepare credit inputs in the mid-year annual financial statements.
• Track and close any internal and external audit exceptions under the credit MIS department within closure timelines.
• Provide credit inputs into the budgeting and planning process.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders, addressing Credit MIS related queries e.g
• Diligently prepare the credit input for the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and stress testing report.
• Foster knowledge-sharing and the exchange of experiences and best practices among team members, thereby ensuring the team’s performance consistently meets established standards
• Ensure tracking and completion and projects within credit MIS. INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT External:
• Regulators on statutory reporting requirements on the credit portfolio.

Requirements
Qualifications/Experience
Education:
• University Degree in Finance/ Accounting or equivalent professional qualification such as Full ACCA, CIMA or ZICA
• Professional: Banking/Accountancy Studies.

Other Competences
• Advanced MS excel knowledge and MS Office proficiency
• Presentation skills
• Business Intelligence platforms (OBIEE)
• Database SQL scripting

Minimum Experience:
• At least 4 years related work experience including portfolio monitoring & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, sensitivity analysis etc.
• Financial sector experience will be an added advantage
• Awareness of relevant frameworks e.g legislation and accounting relevant to the role.
