Data Management and Analysis Officer

This is a Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) position. ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency, commensurate with skills and experience.
Job Description
• Develop digital data collection tools and collect curate data.
• Curate the collected data on the server.
• Support proposals and project through providing analysis and graphical outputs, including spacial data.
• Safeguard and ensure that all relevant data collection tools and data are backed up, protected from data loss.
• Oversee overall data quality assurance and control.
• Develop new databases and innovative ways to integrate information from the various databases to optimize data utilization.
• Ensure data/information generated is properly organized to facilitate data analysis and/or repurposing to create new knowledge.
• Oversee the archiving of documents and advise on best methods and tools to be used.
• Provide technical support to staff on data management activities and application in different contexts including monitoring and evaluation, knowledge generation and communication.

Requirements
• 3 Years’ experience working in data management or another relevant field.
• BSc in computer science, statistics, or other IT relevant field. An MSc will be an added advantage.
• Competent programmer.
• Familiarity with ODK type tools and online data management are essential
• Knowledge of SQL, R, and QGIS a plus.
• Excellent team leadership and facilitation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with people effectively and positively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
• Values the sharing of information and continuous improvement in a cooperative atmosphere of constructive evaluation and learning.
