JOB DETAILS:

SUMMARY OF ROLE
IntraHealth seeks family planning (FP)/adolescent, sexual, and reproductive health (ASRH) specialists for multiple locations (Rubavu, Nyanza, Rwamagana, Kigali districts) who will provide technical and program support for the USAID-funded Ingobyi Activity. This position will provide technical assistance to support informed choice for a full range of family planning methods and services, including FP counselling, post-partum family planning (PPFP), youth-friendly ASRH services, and community-based provision of family planning (CBP FP) to improve the health of women, adolescents, and children under five. The FP/ASRH specialists will be based in the four locations listed above and will participate in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of appropriate and sustainable approaches related to FP/ASRH to contribute to achievement of project deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Planning and integration of FP/ASRH

  • Work closely with the Senior RMNCH Specialist, the relevant Zonal
  • Coordinator, and the Quality and Mentorship Specialist on implementing scale-up strategies for high impact interventions at both facility and community levels, including PPFP, CBP FP and youth friendly services.
  • Plan implementation of activities in close collaboration with respective technical Specialists and the Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) counterpart for FP/ASRH activities.
  • Monitor the implementation of Ingobyi’s workplan related to FP/ASRH activities and ensure that activities are executed according to plan and are integrated across the RMNCH platform.
  • Work collaboratively with other technical and operations staff to ensure coordinated project planning implementation and assure resource availability and management of activities so that the project functions smoothly and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, in nursing and/or public health or other clinical disciplines
  • Additional academic or in-service training related to FP/ASRH or community health and project planning and management
  • Experience in training/capacity building on FP and/or ASRH, including for health facility and community health workers (CHWs)
  • At least five (5) years of professional experience working in FP/ASRH programs
  • Hands-on knowledge and skills in designing, planning, implementing and monitoring of facility and community-based programs for FP/ASRH
  • Sound understanding of current policy developments and evidence base related to FP/ASRH
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office programs including MS Excel,
  • MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong skills in teamwork and networking
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English, French and Kinyarwanda.
  • Solid skills in documentation and report writing
  • Ability to travel nationally frequently
