About the role
Education Development Trust is implementing the Building Learning Foundations (BLF) in Rwanda. BLF is an initiative of the Rwanda Ministry of Education and Rwanda Education Board; it is funded by the British people through the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID) as part of the Learning for all Programme. The programme began in July 2017 and will run until March 2021. BLF seeks to recruit a Finance Manager.
The Finance Manager provides supports across a variety of functions, including the project financial management and reporting and project management accounting. The position ensures financial integrity of the BLF project and provides consolidated financial plans and reporting for the project as may be required and in line with both client/donor and corporate requirements
The position holder will ensure that all financial affairs are conducted in a professional manner meeting Education Development Trust’s internal legal and contractual requirement whilst ensuring compliance with the laws of the country.
The position will oversee the work of all finance/administrative staff and ensure the provision of financial reporting information to client and partners as required and in fulfillment of contractual obligations

The objective of the programme is to improve English and Mathematics in grades P1-P3, ensuring that children have the required foundational skills to make successful progress through the system. This will in turn improve learning outcomes in English and Mathematics for children in Rwanda.
