Job Purpose/Mission
ENGIE Energy Access is seeking a Flying Mini-Grids Construction Technician to work closely with the Global Mini-Grids Design and Construction Manager and to temporarily support the country Technical Managers of MySolGrid during construction phases. The role is to be the inspector and MySolGrid presence on site with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor mandated to build the sites.
Responsibilities
• Quality and Quantity controls of the EPC mandated.
• HSE visits during construction.
• Implementation of Internet access for our monitoring.
• Joined Commissioning with EPC, MySolGrid settings implementation.
• Training of the local permanent Technician and the local operator for Operation of the sites.
• Starting solutions implementation for Productive users (VFD, Soft-starter, Star-Delta)
• Last miles support (Customers subscription, Smart meter registration)
Knowledge and skills
Experience:
• At least 3 years of experience in project implementation (in an EPC company)
• Strong understanding of power electronics topologies (DC/DC, DC/AC, & AC/DC)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Experience in mini-grid projects.
• Commissioning of a certain number of Hybrid installation.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to travel 80% of the time.
Qualifications:
• License degree in electrical engineering
Language(s):
• English
• French is a plus
Technology:
• Hybrid system (Solar PV, Batteries, Diesel) – Victron is mandatory
