JOB DETAILS:
The GMO will be responsible for overall site leadership providing direction and guidance to achieve the site vision while upholding the values of the business. The incumbent will bring a high commercial and practical understanding of the business and financial control of the mine, both of which are core to the success of the company. The GMO should contribute by bringing a strong technical discipline to the team. From a corporate cultural perspective, the incumbent must be confident to lead from the front and to bring an entrepreneurial, problem solving and team-based approach to the organisation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Sustainable development principles form the basis of operations with respect to people, cultures, traditions, and environment
• Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained in their areas of responsibility and have access to the tools required to work to a higher standard
• Improve the training and development of key staff
• Resource Development programs to ensure conversion of Resources to Reserves at a rate maintaining or exceeding mine depletion
• Grade Control activities are carried out to support the efficient extraction of the ore body by the Mining team.
• Mining activities are carried out with a high degree of efficiency and productivity to meet the ore processing schedule.
• Ensure performance of Contractors in line with the Mining Contracts
• Develop a culture of “partnership” with Contractors to ensure they are successful, leading to LCML being successful. “Together we win
• Maintenance of all plant and infrastructure is carried out effectively to enable maximum uptime of the processing plant.

• Processing of ore in a productive and efficient manner producing optimal recovery, metallurgical and plant performances
• Ensuring compliant management of the water management system and facilities
TSF Construction activities are carried out on schedule to civil engineering specifications, compliant with Permitting, and aligned with globally recognised standards.
Leading the site team with Core Values as the basis of values and behaviours
Developing a strong site management capability such that the GM role is covered with regular delegations in times of absence
Develop a clear sense of “can do” among the management team. Confidence that we can identify issues, and solutions for all challenges.
Working with the Community Relations team to strengthen our social license through consultation, engagement, and an effective CSR Program. Hosting site visits for all stakeholders including Investment & Banking, Government, and other Stakeholders

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Experience: 10 years plus
Education Level: Degree
Qualifications: Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in one of the Engineering disciplines (Mining Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering / Geology or a related discipline).
Software: Computer and MS Office suite literacy
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: Mining Laws and Regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Compliance
Skills To: Strategically thinking and planning skills – can contribute to the development and implementation of high-level strategy and business planning
Ability To: Evaluate and incorporate technical improvements into the operation and plan, schedule and budget for the production deliverables
Other Requirements: Mine Manager’s certificate of competency (preferable)
