Kigali Golf Club (KGC) is seeking an experienced General Manger that will work under the supervision of KGC Board and fulfilling the manager’s obligation in accordance with the club ‘strategic plan, mission, vision and core values.


The General Manager of Kigali Golf Club will play a leadership role in the management, growth and profitability of the clubhouse and management of the game of golf by implementing strategic deliverables both financial and administrative as will be set in the strategic plan. Under the supervision of the KGC Board, the General Manager will direct all accounts, finances, human resource and business administration of KGC to ensure an efficient and clean management structure. He/she should also be able to provide essential input for planning; monitoring and evaluation to ensure all are grounded in sound sports and business management to enhance cost-effectiveness of KGC’s sports and business operations and management.


General Functions:

  • Be responsible for overall HR, Financial and Accounting functions of KGC.
  • Efficiently manage the KGC Club House and Hospitality section and all related sports facilities and infrastructure.
  • Organize golf and other sports competitions for members on a regular basis.
  • Solicit for partnerships with key corporates for the sponsorship of golf and other sports.
  • Manage all the branding and advertisements at the clubhouse and on the course for the benefit of KGC.
  • Employ a team of competent employees and contractors for the efficient running of the club and the facilities.
  • Carryout marketing initiatives that will promote the club locally, regionally, and internationally.
  • Run and oversee a successful bar and catering service to the satisfaction of members and profitably.
  • Manage the clubs finances prudently and proficiently.
  • Be abreast with all current legislation regarding the running of a country club.
  • Oversee the golf course operations that include maintenance of the course to very high standards and repair of machinery.
  • Oversee the operation of other sports services offered by the club; tennis, squash, swimming, health club, etc.
  • Formulate financial policies of KGC in cooperation with the KGC Board.
  • Evaluate and forecast the revenue generations of KGC.
  • Procure and manage Financial Management information system.
  • Carry out analysis of assets and liabilities and submit recommendations to the KGC Board on a quarterly basis.
  • Preparation of budget of KGC
  • Monitor and look after the day-to-day affairs of the HR and Finance Division of KGC.
  • Ensure that all relevant tax, social security and any other obligations are settled in good time.
  • Assess, verify and valuate/reevaluate all the fixed assets purchased and disposed off at regular intervals and ensure that appropriate fixed asset registers are maintained.
  • Be responsible for all the procurement needs of KGC and ensure value for money is attained in any procurement.
  • Implement processes to mitigate risks at KGC.
  • Conduct any other tasks as assigned by the KGC Board.
  • Good knowledge of the management of golf clubs and the game of golf.
  • Excellent knowledge of the hospitality industry.
  • Good knowledge of managing the golf course maintenance and operational equipments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve Club goals.

Educations and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 (five) years of relevant working experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in management of golf or country clubs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Sports Management, Business Management, Economics or any other degree that is relevant to the management of sports clubs or hotels.


This will be a permanent position on successful completion of a probation period of six months. This job will attract an attractive salary package commensurate with the tasks at hand.
