What we do?
Within our Sales Area, we are responsible for sales and service activities in the Central Africa territories – e.g. DRC, Tanzania and Zambia. Our sales and is focused on the mining industry and the construction industries, and our customer base ranges from large multinational companies to small and medium sized enterprises – consisting of both end-customers and dealerships. It is with passion, expertise and an innovative mindset we provide our customers with the best overall experience.

About The Job
You’ll be joining the Sales Area Central Africa that has a potential of further significant growth, and you’ll manage our HR/EHS function with the main mission of developing, driving and implementing the Sales Area Central Africa People Strategy across the employee entire life cycle and improving our business performance – ensuring that everything we do supports our strategy within in a safe, healthy and sustainable organization. This is done in collaboration with your local HR team, the SMR HR Council as well as other internal and external stakeholders, and you take responsibility for our yearly People Strategy process, annual planning and follow-up of the HR/EHS functions performance metrics.

As we have a strong growth agenda, you also support the business in HR related growth activities and next to this you will ensure compliance in respect of HR & EHS related topics.
You report to, and act in close collaboration with the Vice President Sales Central Africa and you are a valued partner of the Sales Area Management team. You will be located in Kitwe, Zambia and travel to our business units across the sales area is part of the job.

About You
• We’re looking for someone with experience in developing/implementing a People/EHS strategy, who has experience in leading cross-cultural teams and who has worked both strategically and operationally in a global matrix environment for several years.
• You have excellent communication skills, are good at managing projects, used to navigating in a decentralized organization with cross-functional collaborations and close contact with managers and HR, and you’re comfortable in presenting to Executive Management.
• We expect an interest in new digital solutions and it is a plus with experience of working with ERP and management systems such as Workday, SAP and BPC. As we act in a global setting, you must be fluent in English, verbally and in writing and any intermediate French language skills would be very much appreciated.
• You’re characterized by a structured, pragmatic and compliant way of working, and you capture opportunities without losing track of our direction. You have a data-driven approach, and with a strategic and holistic view, you respond timely on business requirements and act on both urgent, short-term and long-term objectives. In all of your work, you rely on strong stakeholder management and great collaborations, and you empower people to find efficient solutions, look at new perspectives and share best practices.
