Job Purpose
The Handyman shall conduct basic maintenance on various businesses or homes the plant and machinery and facilities according to the Hotel standards. The main duties shall include repairing plumbing systems, fixing company equipment or tools and testing various company or home appliances to ensure they work properly.

Key Responsibilities
•Undertake inspections of installations, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of plant machinery building, fixtures and fittings.
•Undertake general plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks, installing new sinks, urinals and toilets, pipework (copper or PVC)
•Undertake general carpentry such as hanging doors, new locks, architraves, window frames, boxing in, assembling furniture, easing and adjusting windows, replacing handles and similar hardware.
• Identifies works order that can`t be done by him and require major repair by the required trade-in engineering.
•Undertake basic electrical maintenance
•Liaising with housekeeping, performing jobs as and when they are required.
•Identification of hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
•Reporting of problems/failures that may impact on the hotel and/or its clients/customers to line Supervisor
•Contribute towards the smooth running of the team
•To share in the implementation of the training programs that will result in better productivity and a better work environment.
•Undertake repair and paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, roofs and other parts of the building.
•Maintain trash and recycling receptacles around the facility.
•Maintain and repair air conditioning and heating systems as required
•Carry out any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
a)Professional Qualification:
•Grade 12 certificate
•Trade/ Professional Certificate in relevant field.

b)Work Experience:
•Minimum 1-year relevant work experience in similar position

c)Skill Specifications:
•Grade 12 certificate
•Trade/ Professional Certificate in relevant field.
•Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
•Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
•Basic math skills
•Good communication ability
•Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
•Attention to detail
