JOB DETAILS:

The Zambia National Farmers’ Union (ZNFU) is looking for an outstanding, results oriented and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Head – Membership, Services & Communication.
The mission of the ZNFU is to promote and safeguard the interests of members as individual farmers, corporations/companies, purveyors, and other organizations involved in the business of agriculture and related activities in order to achieve sustainable agricultural, economic and social development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Executive Director of the ZNFU, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Reviewing, upgrading, and designing members services
• Project Proposal writing ability necessary for structuring standalone projects to benefit members and soliciting for funding for such projects.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring systems of raising funds at district level and payment of membership subscriptions.
• Designing, implementing, and monitoring key informants that liaise with farmers at district level to enhance membership mobilization and member service provision to members.
• Designing, implementing, and monitoring membership structures that capture small agribusinesses in the districts.
• Designing, proposing, and negotiating effective and efficient ways of raising income from all membership categories;
• Responsible for the facilitation of support services to specialized Associations;
• Spearhead preparation of medium to long term strategic plans for the Union
• Manage the outreach, communication, media, and information systems for the Union
• Oversee all Information and Communication systems and Board Governance
• Any other duties assigned by the Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture from a recognized University.
• Master’s degree in agriculture will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience.
• Field experience in dealing with farmers and managing projects.
• Good negotiation, communication and report writing skills.
