JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To coordinate the Human Resources affairs of the company to facilitate enhanced and motivated human capital to ensure that company strategic objectives are achieve in line with company mission in compliance with statutory employment laws and requirements.
KEY RESULT AREA
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)
HR Action Plan input
Plans & budgets that support the achievement of company’s HR strategies and priorities developed and approved.
Policies – Developments, Interpretations and Advice
Develops, Interpretates and gives advice on employment policies and legislation to comply with legal framework of employment
Recruitments and Retention
Ensures that vacant positions in the approved organisation structure are filled with qualified employees and inducts them. Induction to new employees to be conducted and ensure employees are familiarized with conditions of service and employment terms. Develop mechanisms for employee retention and staff morale
Motivation of Employees
Ensures positive work climate is created and employees are motivated and committed to the company mission and values.
Employee Records
Ensures records of employees are managed and information is easily accessible to authorized persons when needed.
Payroll Data Input
Ensures payroll input data for the period are provided and recoveries and payments applicable to employees are affected according to existing conditions of service
Maintained Employee Discipline
Ensure employees are counseled on disciplinary matters and correct application of the law and an environment of positive cooperation and appropriate discipline is created.
Staff Training
Ensure employees are are trained, equipped with competencies and knowledge about the company’s mission and individual performance is acceptable and sustained
Employee Wellness
Ensures company’s health and safety programmes implemented and employee are aware of safety and security issues.
Performance Management
Ensures employee’s performance contracts are signed and reviews conducted with knowledge of performance measurement tools.
Manage Employee Benefits
Ensures employee benefits such as funeral, staff medical and group life assurance schemes managed in line with company policy guidelines
Manage Employee Conditions of service
Ensures employee conditions of service apply to all employees without discrimination and are updated with all legislative developments.
Succession Planning
Ensures Implementation of the company’s BCM policy on succession planning
Manage Labour Relations Compliance by Investors in the LS MFEZ
Ensures all companies operating in the Zone are complying with the Labour Laws
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
• Provides advice and guidance to superior regarding statutory obligations and HR regulatory matters.
• Plans and meets deadlines, maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of Executive Management.
• Working hours may be long and irregular.
Complexity of the Job
• The job involves calculations and analysis among different variables.
Job Specifications
Academic and Professional Qualifications
• Minimum Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ level Credits
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or in Social Sciences.
• Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
• Master’s Degree in Relevant discipline is an added advantage
Experience
• Minimum Five (5) years’ work experience in a Similar Role in a large / medium size organisation.
• Hands on practical working knowledge of labour law, employment legislation, employment practices
