Job Description
• Designing and documenting the software architecture of the system involving the set of structures needed to reason about the system, which comprise software elements, relations among them, and properties of both. This shall also include the documentation of a system's software architecture.
• Using appropriate methodologies in documenting the system architecture
• Describing and documenting external interfaces with the IFMIS in terms of functional, non functional, data format and technical terms. these are expected to represent communication channels with other external business partners
• Keeping up and making use with the ever changing technologies.
• Coordinating the activities of the development teams and performing code reviews.
• Participating in the skills and knowledge transfer process towards ensuring that the IT staff gain the required skills and knowledge.
• Assisting in the identification of issues and problems in the IFMIS application build and the finding of suitable solutions. Furthermore and throughout the duration of the project, assist the IFMIS Project Manager to identify risks to the Project and the formulation of strategies to manage such risks.
• Carrying out any such other duties that will be assigned by the IFMIS Coordinator in line with the improvement of financial management for GoR.
Job Profile
IFMIS Software Architect should hold a Masters’ degree in Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, Computer Science or any other field related to software development.
IFMIS Software Architect should have
• Excellent knowledge of developing Java Enterprise Applications using JEE and Spring
• Practical skills in developing web applications using popular java frameworks (Struts, JSF, Spring MVC, or ZK)
• Strong understanding of ORM technologies (JPA, Hibernate, or MyBatis)
• Excellent knowledge of build tools like Maven, Ant, etc
• Deep expertise of In Memory Data Grids such as Gigaspaces XAP, Apache Ignite, or Hazelcast
• Practical knowledge of RDBMS including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Strong knowledge of noSQL databases including MongoDB and time series database (TSDB) such as InfluxDB
• Excellent knowledge of web services (SOAP and REST)
• Fluent coding in Java and JavaEE technologies such as EJB, JSP, JMS, JNDI, JDBC, JavaMail, JTA, etc
• Excellent knowledge of techniques used to secure Web applications: TLS, OWASP, Content Security Policy, Web Services (SOAP and REST)
• Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JQuery and API's
• Excellent knowledge of digital signature and encryption: symmetric key and asymmetric key algorithms, hashing, certificates
• Deep expertise and hands on experience with Java logging framework such as Log4J, Apache Commons Logging or SLF4J
• Excellent knowledge java transaction managers such as Atomikos
• Excellent knowledge of java auditing frameworks such as JaVers
• Expert in testing tools JUnit or TestNG
• Familiarity with load and performance testing tools such as JMeter, NeoLoad, etc.
• Familiarity with code quality tools such as SonarQube
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Jenkins
• Familiarity with version control tools such as CVS, Subversion, etc
• Familiarity with web and application servers including Jetty, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, etc
