JOB DETAILS:
PURPOSE
This exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to install, test, repair, inspect, and maintain metering and recording instruments, controlling devices, data logging and display equipment, communications, and telemetry systems while performing related work as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Installations Maintenance
• Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that record, indicate, control, and regulate level, flow, pressure, temperature, position, and water analysis.
• Troubleshoot telemetry and process controller hardware, maintaining a functional knowledge of the operation of the telemetry system software and hardware.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnosing existing or potential issues. Clean, lubricate, calibrate, and adjust as conditions indicate.
• Layout, install, and place into service new metering, controlling, and recording devices, calibrating as required. May extend or connect related electrical circuits.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
• Troubleshoot SCADA and PLC software and hardware, make recommendations, perform software changes, and maintain documentation of changes to the software and hardware.
• Perform repairs and testing tasks requiring higher-level knowledge, skills, and abilities, and serve as a technical resource to others.
Health and Safety
• Always behave safely and adhere to FA and client policies and procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Attend pre-shift meetings.
• Wear PPE at all times.
Understand and Perform Financial Administration
• Understand financial costing.
• Prepare, submit, and secure contract rate increases.
• Manage stock control.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Craft or Advanced Technician Certificate in Instrumentation.
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
• Valid EIZ Membership.
EXPERIENCE
• 3-4 years’ experience working with industrial instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience diagnosing and making changes to PLC and SCADA software and hardware systems.
