Invitation to Tender disposal of 2,949 tons of scrap metal in Mpika, Zambia Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority

TENDER NO: TZR/HQ/CTC/2022/2023/05

1. The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) intends to dispose of scrap metal estimated to be 2,949 tons, found within TAZARA Mpika-Zambia, on the basis of "as is, where is" with no further liability after sale.

3. Tendering will be conducted through the Open National Competitive Method of Bidding as per procedures specified in the TAZARA Procurement & Supplies Manual of November 2011.

4. Interested eligible tenderers may inspect the scrap metal at TAZARA Mpika, Zambia, through the office of the Senior Supplies Officer, located at Supplies Main Depot Office Block, at TAZARA Mpika Regional Office, from Monday to Friday, except during public holidays.

5. Eligible Tenderers may inspect and purchase tender documents at a no-refundable fee of USD 400,00 (four hundred dollars only) from the office of the Supplies Manager (the Secretary to the Central Tender Disposal Committee) al, Nyerere/ Mandela Roads Junction, TAZARA Head Office, Room No. 210, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania or the Office of the Lusaka Area Manager, TAZARA House, Independence/ Dedan Kimathi Road Junction, Lusaka, Zambia, from 08:00 to 16:30 hours E.A.T/C.A.T from Monday to Friday, except during public holidays. Payment should be by either Cash, Banker's Draft, or Banker's Cheque, payable to Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority.

6. All tenders must be accompanied by a tender deposit in an acceptable form, amounting to 25% of the tender amount in United States Dollar or equivalent Tanzanian Shillings/Zambian Kwacha.

Submission Procedure

7. All Tenders in one original plus two copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes, marked "Tender No: TZR/HQ/CTC/2022/2023/05 for Disposal of Scrap Metal Estimated to be 2,929 tons, Found Within TAZARA Mpika - Zambia" must be delivered to the office of the Central Disposal Committee Secretary, TAZARA Head Office, Room No. 210 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania or the Office of Lusaka Area Manager, TAZARA House, Independence/Dedan Kimathi Roads Junction, Lusaka, Zambia, and be delivered on or before Friday, 18 December, 2022 at or before 10.00 hours C.A.T or 11.00 E.A.T from Monday to Friday, except during public holidays. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers' representatives who choose to attend the opening ceremony at TAZARA, Head Office, Board Room, in Dar es Salaam - Tanzania or TAZARA Lusaka Area office, Board Room, in Lusaka-Zambia..

8. Late Tenders, portion of Tenders, electronic Tenders, and Tenders not received, Tenders not opened and not read out in public at the Tender opening ceremony date as indicated in the Bidding Document shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
