JOB DETAILS:
The North Western Provincial Health Office under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking for eligible, self-motivated and qualified applicants for the position listed below at Facility level
JOB TITLE : LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST PCR LAB
JOB PURPOSE : To supervise and undertake the provision of laboratory services in order to ensure effective diagnostic services
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises and undertakes timely, ordering of reagents and consumables in order to prevent stock-outs and ensure their cost-effective use.
• Supervises and undertakes timely, preparations of budgets in order to facilitate the acquisition of financial resources
• Manages timely development of work plans in order to monitor and evaluate and performance
• Supervises and undertakes effectively the development and implementation of capacity building interventions in order to impart appropriate skills and knowledge.
• Monitors and evaluates effectively laboratory programmes and activities in order to develop appropriate interventions.
• Supervises and undertakes regularly, quality assurance in order to ensure adherence to standard operational procedures
• Undertakes effectively the provision of primary and secondary prevention programmes in order to control new infections and avoid recurrence of infections
• Supervises effectively human and other material resources in order to facilitate achievement of set targets
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES
Secondary Education: Full Grade 12 school certificate with five O Level Credits or better
Professional Qualifications:
• Diploma in Biomedical Sciences
• Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience
• Affiliated to HPCZ with valid practicing license
Communication Skills/ Written Skills: Ability to write comprehensive and analytical reports
Oral Skills: Fluent in English
