Lumwana Mining Company Seeks To Recruit a Highly Committed Employee For The Position Of Lead Construction – Tailing Storage Facility/Wastage Storage Facility – FS (Fixed Term Contract) To Join The Project Team. We Are In Search Of An Individual Who Can Champion Barrick’s DNA By

Reporting to the Project Manager – FS, you will be responsible for leading the construction team for Tailing Storage Dams and Waste Storage Dams construction, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and budgets for the Tailing Storage Facility/ Wastage Storage Facility (TSF/WSF).
• Supervise and coordinate construction activities, including subcontractor management.
• Lead the construction team, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate construction-related risks to ensure project success.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including project sponsors, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Foster a safety-first culture, ensuring that construction activities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage construction budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and minimizing cost overruns.
• Prepare and submit regular project reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of construction activities.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or related field
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Construction Management
• Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Proficient in construction management software, such as Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. good written and verbal communication skills and Team skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and a good communicator
• Must be familiar with safe working practices.
• Must have a valid Driver’s Licence.
