JOB DETAILS:
DUTIES
• Manage the preparation of annual work plans and budgets for the Department and facilitate smooth execution of the activities by officers;
• Manage the development of an investor identification programme in line with ZDA’s objectives that targets different regions of the world;
• Manage the development of investor leads and nurture these until they decide to set up in Zambia;
• Facilitate the profiling, packaging and preparation of investment projects for promotion to both local and foreign investors;
• Engage and network at the highest level of Government, private sector and cooperating partners;
• Develop and make presentations at the highest level to both local and international audiences;
• Coordinate teams in tracking leads, structuring deals and closing investment transactions;
• Participate in preparation of Zambia’s annual investment conference to high level of international best practice generating considerable investment projects and transactions;
• Interpret the ZDA Act No.17 of 2022 and the Investment Trade and Business Development Act No. 18 of 2022 and attendant regulations to the public and private sector;
• Contribute significantly to the relevant working groups under the Public Private Dialogue forum;
• Ensure that the Zambia Virtual Deal room functions as intended generating the required transactions, partnerships and joint ventures;
• Devise inclusive investment strategies to create partnerships for youth and women along the priority sectors;
• Manage the evaluation of Zambia’s investment climate and provide advice on its improvement;
• Contribute to the formulation of strategic goals and the development of a Branding Strategy for Zambia;
• Manage the development and implementation of an Investment Promotion Strategy for Zambia;
• Manage the dissemination of information on Zambia’s investment climate as the preferred investment destination through among other things by holding investment promotion seminars, producing, and distributing promotional materials;
• Manage inward and outward investment missions;
• Manage the preparation and submission of adhoc and periodic reports of the department’s activities/affairs/performance and related issues;
• Supervises and reviews the performance of subordinates to ensure effective execution of work plans and related activities in key result areas; and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS
• Bachelors Degree in BA Economics, Investment, Business Administration or Commerce;
• Masters Degree in; Economics, Business Administration, Commerce or Law
• Six (6) years’ work experience, three (3) of which must have been at management level;
• Excellent Communication, Presentation and Negotiating skills;
• Knowledge of computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
