Job Purpose
To work in conjunction with the Control Room Operator by continually checking the circuit, performing field work as required to ensure continuous crusher operation and preventing and acting on spillage. To act as relief Control Room Operator.
Specific Job Responsibility
Area of responsibility is all equipment between crusher commencing downwards from the top of the spider arms, and all conveying systems up to point of discharge at pit top bin, inclusive of the head pulley.

Job Specific Competencies
• Wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow First Quantum Minerals Trident Limited safety procedures and guidelines.
• Undertake any ad hoc or non-routine requests assigned Superiors.
• Ensure the crusher is shut down and started up safely and quickly without spillage.
• Complete operating checks according to instructions given by Superiors and deliver to the Supervisor prior to end of each shift .
• Spillage and equipment integrity checks.
• Keep crushing area clean by cleaning up spills as they occur.
• Complete conveyor checks according to instructions given by the Supervisor and deliver to the Supervisor prior to end of each shift.
• Inspect the circuit regularly and report all spillage, leaks and holes.
• Respond appropriately to conveyor tips.
• Escalate for advice and /or approval.
• Complete shift handover.
• Protect crusher sump from spillage.
• Keep the crusher sump empty of slurry.
• Clean up if spillage occurs inside the bund area.

Work Experience
At least one (1) year of experience in processing plant, preferably in copper production.

Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum of Diploma in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: Associate Degree
