Job description:
Purpose of the role:
To continuously liaise with key stakeholders to ensure ore loss, ore dilution, and misclassification is minimized within the pit
Specific Job Responsibilities:
1. Demonstration of a “safety first” focus by acting as a role model to personnel, whilst continuously developing safe and effective work practices and procedures.
2. Conduct daily field ore delineation and control.
3. Champion efforts to minimize unplanned dilution, ore loss, and misclassification.
4. Assist the mine planning engineering team, via set escalation processes, in identifying and highlighting non-compliance to mine plans and/or planned feed grade deviations where feasible.
5. Communicate implications of major daily ore feed plan changes to key stakeholders i.e. process team.
6. Assist the mining operations team with any clarification or information required to better understand the daily ore feed implications.
7. Undertake field assessments and ground-truthing checks of key material characteristics at active mining faces to ensure model data is aligned.
8. On-shift leadership and supervision of the ore control support teams.
9. Provide valuable and continuous feedback to the geology team highlighting opportunities, challenges, or risks that could impact ore control.
10. Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:
1. Must have Full Grade 12 Certificate
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
3. Valid Manual driving licence.
Experience:
1.
2. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
3. Should be familiar with Central African Copperbelt Geology and Metallogeny
