INVITATION FOR BIDS

PIA/WO/004/2024: TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF 55KW SOLAR POWER SYSTEM AT THE PENSIONS AND INSURANCE AUTHORITY OFFICE PREMISES

The Pensions and Insurance Authority is a statutory body established under Section 4(1) of the Pension Scheme Regulation Act, No. 28 of 1996. The Authority has allocated supplementary funds in its 2024 budget for the procurement of a solar power system for its office premises. This initiative aligns with the Government’s directive to public institutions to adopt and utilize alternative energy sources, such as solar power, in response to the current power deficit facing the country.

The Authority now invites qualified and experienced bidders to submit sealed bids for the Supply, Installation, and Commissioning of a 55KW Solar Power System at its office premises located at Stand No. 4618, Lubwa Road, Rhodes Park, Lusaka.

Interested eligible bidders are requested to attend a mandatory site visit that will take place on Thursday, 12^th September 2024, at 14:30 at the Authority’s premises. Prospective bidders who will not attend this meeting will be ineligible to participate in the procurement proceeding.

Bidding will be conducted using the Open National Bidding Procedures specified in Section 39 of the Public Procurement Act No. 8 of 2020. The tender is open to both citizen and local bidders as defined in the bidding document.

Bidders may obtain further information and inspect the solicitation documents at the address provided above from 08:00 hours to 12:30 hours and from 14:00 hours to 16:30 hours, Monday to Friday.

Bids should be submitted in duplicate, must be appropriately bound, sealed, and clearly labelled “Tender for the Supply, Installation, and Commissioning of a 55KW Solar Power System at the Pensions and Insurance Authority Office Premises.”

Bids should be addressed to the Procurement Manager and deposited in the Tender Box located on the Ground Floor at the Pensions and Insurance Authority Office premises (address as mentioned above) at or before 10:05 hours on Monday, 23rd September 2024[1]. Soft copy submissions will not be accepted. Bids will be opened immediately after the submission deadline in the Conference Room at the Pensions and Insurance Authority, Stand No. 4618 Lubwa Road, Rhodes Park, Lusaka, in the presence of bidders or their representatives who will choose to attend.

[1] The Authority has obtained a deviation that has enabled it to reduce the floatation period for the tender to two weeks due to the urgency of the requirement.
