JOB DETAILS:
Our client, a local business operating several business lines. Acknowledged for their outstanding professionalism and performance. One of the verticals of trading being Construction, our client would like to advance their vision as a preferred construction specialist.

They now want to fill a vital role of a Procurement Officer to add further value to their Lusaka based dynamic team. This opportunity is ideal for talented persons, keen to make immediate contributions and prove their caliber.

Purpose: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Procurement Officer will be in charge of all procurement matters.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (K.P. A’s)
• Procurement Strategy: Develop and Implement procurement strategies aligned with Organizational goals and objectives
• Supplier Management: Identify, Evaluate and select suppliers bases on quality, price and delivery capabilities.
• Procurement Process: Oversee the end-to-end procurement including requisitioning, purchasing, inventory management and delivery. Must be able to identify for cost saving without compromising on quality, process improvement and supplier relationship development
• Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage procurement budgets and forecast. Monitor and Analyze expenditure.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies within the procurement process
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities including spending analysis, supplier performance and cost saving achieved.

To be successful, candidates must;
• Be a Holder of a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) Certificate
• Have 3 Years experience in Procurement
• Have strong negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management
• Be Proficient in using procurement software and systems
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• To be successful the candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the industry.
