Overview
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management (15%)
• Lead the team to deliver on its objectives, report on its activities, manage budgets and support the process of developing future phases of the project.
• Maintain and extend international and local partnerships to support the process of a culture change in the way practical clinical education is delivered.

Programme development and delivery (30%)
Lead the development and implementation (with input from local and international partners) of a series of postgraduate Clinical Education (train-the-trainer) programmes for in-service staff.
This key element of the role will include:
• Developing key curricula for clinical trainers and teachers.
• Working with local regulatory authorities to ensure programmes are accredited.
• Advise on various ways the programmes can be delivered (i.e., face to face, blended learning, virtual, mobile training).
• Devise and execute an effective implementation strategy to ensure the programmes are rooted and delivered.
• Work with the company’s in-house MERLA team to develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools to steer and assess delivery and uptake of educational programmes.

VCE facility capacitation (management and education) (25%)
The role of the CEPM will be to support local teams develop and implement appropriate and contextual educational operational manuals and standard operating procedures to support:
1. a) effective facility management, and
2. b) effective educational delivery.
They will be expected to:
• Work with local and international partners to help capacitate the management and effective utilisation of the new VCE facilities through the development and implementation of ‘Standard Operation Procedures’ manuals.
• Work with local partners to develop appropriate student management tools and systems to help VCE facilities manage flows of students flows cohorts on placement efficiently. Students using the facilities will be both undergraduate and graduate students, and they will usually be based at the partner hospital on rotations for more anywhere between eight and forty weeks. You will be required to work with the facility managers to help them develop systems to effectively track and manage the educational needs of these students, as well as our own monitoring and evaluation requirements around these.
The PMCE will need to author regular evidence-supported reports on teaching and learning activities within the VCE training sites.
The PMCE will be responsible for assisting partners (local and international) to develop appropriate learning and teaching materials geared towards hands-on clinical education delivery. This could include the development of clinical simulation teaching activities, i.e., procedure manuals etc.

bEach of the VCEs has a dedicated e-learning centre. The PMCE, working with in-house teams (i.e. nursing education) will help support the development of these e-learning facilities into modern resource centres for student access to learning. This activity area will include working with partners to ensure that these facilities are appropriately digitally connected to recognised resources that are useful for undergraduate clinical education across all disciplines (nursing, medicine, clinical officer, medical licentiates).
International and local partners have already been identified who can assist with this activity area.

Organisation (10%)
As one of the organisation’s senior staff members, play a part in supporting the development of the organisation, its strategy and culture, working closely with the Project Manager/Programme Manager Clinical Education.

Education
• A Clinical background with a Master’s degree or PhD in Education / Health Education
Experience
• Demonstrable professional experience in designing and delivering health education programmes for undergraduate students.
• Five to ten years’ experience in delivering training to in-service health professionals, either through CPD programmes or working within the Health or NGO sectors.
• Experience in the health NGO sector desirable.
• Experience in digital education desirable.

IS/IT
• Strong IS/IT skills as used in an office working environment.
• Excellent skills in all MSOffice applications.
• Skills in effectively using online learning platforms.
