JOB DETAILS:
Position: Project Officer
Reporting To: Program Manager
Job Purpose: This position will lead implementation and integration of Education, Vocational skills and Livelihood activities, prevention and management of child protection including planning for livelihoods components in Kabwe, Kafue, Kalulushi, Lusaka and Mufulira according to project expectations and requirements including quality, time and budget specifications. S/he will lead or support assessments, strategy development, project management and implementation and training
Responsibilities:
• Support the community volunteers, maintain and follow comprehensive work plans, ensuring that the project is implemented according to project specifications (quality, time and budget/plan) and in line with EFZ’s core values.
• Provide technical support (capacity building) to Saving Groups members
• Working with the Program manager, Field Officer and Volunteers to develop realistic annual project plans and budgets, ensuring compliance with project requirements and donor guidelines.
• Prepare project monthly and quarterly reports including coordination of the collection of stories of impact.
• Participate in resource mobilization initiatives including proposal writing, ensuring that the project/community evidence is made available as well as ensuring M&E is integrated in the proposal
• Supporting the development of a comprehensive M&E framework that will enable EFZ to assess the outcomes and impact of the project
Qualification/ Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any social sciences, Project Management or any other relevant field
• At least 5 years of project management and vocational skills experience, working with multiple stakeholders using inclusive approaches to programming that encourage full participation of individuals especially the engagement of youth.
• Experience working with youth, M&E and skills in training facilitation and livelihoods content will be an added advantage
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to vary communication content and style to suit audiences to inform, motivate and inspire
• Ability to build effective working relationships, inspiring confidence and credibility with partners at all levels.
• Experience of working in a team
• Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure. Time management skills are essential.
• Experience of successfully monitoring and managing budgets.
• Ability to analyse and quickly grasp the fundamentals of a need or issue. Able to find innovative ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
