JOB DETAILS:
Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is located in the Mazabuka District, 75kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly-owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.
The Mine is a modern, world-class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified individual to take up the position of:
Role: PUMP OPERATOR/ASSISTANT FITTER
Reporting: Foreman Mechanical
Job Purpose: The role is responsible for operating and repairing underground pumps efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Participates in all relevant company, departmental, sectional, and unit SHEQ and housekeeping initiatives as stipulated in the set of company procedures.
• Complies with SHEQ policies and procedures in all activities undertaken to minimize unsafe incidents and accidents.
• Inspects all pumps Underground and ensure that conditions are ideal for pumping.
Communicates to line supervisor to ensure that desilting is done, if need be, in the pump sumps.
• Assists the Fitter in the dismantling and assembly of pumps.
• Records critical incidents and downtime prescribed log sheet and passes to the Shift Supervisor at the end of the shift.
• Ensures that operating set points are maintained and records of same
• Carry out any duties assigned by Foreman
• Ready to be called upon any time whenever duty calls.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Trade Test in Mechanical Fitting
• Experience in Underground Pumps operations is a must.
• At least (4) years’ experience in pump fitting.
• At least (2) years’ experience as a pump attendant
