The Key Purpose of this role is to provide overall plant quality management supporting the Maltings plant on all quality activities and KPI’s and execution of VPO and ensure that all Quality Control Procedures and activities in the plant are executed.

Key Roles & Responsibility:
• Ensure all Lab Team activities follow the standards set by the Company, practicing full Quality Management and Quality VPO Pillar
• Conforms to AB InBev quality standards
• Achieve quality performance and improvement standards linked to means and results.
• Improve quality compliance and management on site and reduce reputational risks for the site
• Achieve VPO targets and Quality KPI and PI targets for the site
• Act as the custodian for Malt and Barley Quality Systems & Non conformances
• Ensure oversight over Recipe and Process Control governance
• Take the lead on internal audits for Quality and Food Safety for the plant
• Support Quality visits, meetings and audits at barley depots
• Assess and communicate legal compliance
• Standards are in place and well understood.
• Training is done against the specified methods.
• Verification of the execution of the procedures to ensure that they comply with the standards.
• Ensure that equipment is calibrated and is functioning as per original standard.
• Highlight of any deviations to the Production Manager and Plant Manager for action and stopping of the process when necessary
• Ensure Food Safety Compliance
• Document Management, SPC, etc.
• Ensure lab governance (MAPS , Reference control, calibration etc.)
• Maintain Barley Quality Control including execution of heat map
• Ensure the management of Barley Depot quality trends
• Ensure the management of Pre-harvest and Heat map
• Ensure LIMS maintenance and review
• Implement safety, health/environmental procedures and legislation
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
• Support Safety Pillar VPO implementation in quality department
• Develop employees and management of SKAP/CAP
• Manage and apply personnel/recruitment processes and standards
• Ensure a healthy employee relations climate
• Implement performance management systems
• Communicate effectively in the workplace
• Facilitate effective team dynamics
• Talent Management
• Conform to value chain requirements
• Manage QC administration
• Optimise the availability of measuring equipment
• Maintain and control consumable stock levels
• Optimise quality control management system

Minimum Requirements:
• A Bachelors Degree in Science (Chemistry/Microbiology/Quality Management/Food Sciences/Natural Sciences or equivalent)
• 2-3 Years in quality experience in a Laboratory/FMCG environment
• Experience in Quality Management Systems
• A good understanding of laboratory methodology
• Sound knowledge and experience in Management Systems relating to Foods Safety
• ISO 22000/HACCP certification
• Auditors training for ISO 22000/HACCP
• Lead auditors certification would be advantageous level in a operational or a technical role in the malting environment
• LIMS understanding
