Job Description
As Sales and Marketing Officer for our start-up bottled water business, you will play a pivotal role in its development and expansion. You will be responsible for cultivating long-term customer relationships, overseeing the sales team, and driving ambitious sales targets. Your background in sales and marketing of similar products will bring invaluable expertise to our team.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Building:
• Develop and sustain long-term relationships with customers, including key accounts like Shoprite, supermarkets, and local markets.
• Understand customer needs and expectations, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Sales Strategy and Team Management:
• Implement a robust sales management process to assist the sales team in identifying key customers and prospects.
• Set and communicate reasonable sales targets for the team, motivating members to consistently surpass sales goals.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Recruit, manage, train, and provide comprehensive guidance to the sales team within your assigned territory.
• Allocate weekly/monthly targets to sales team representatives, encompassing sales volumes, category mix, product availability, and visibility standards.
Marketing and Promotion:
• Propose and execute trade promotions and marketing activities to boost sales and enhance brand visibility.
• Identify and act on opportunities for channel expansion and revenue growth.
Market Analysis and Route Planning:
• Conduct in-depth market mapping to identify opportunities and challenges.
• Develop comprehensive route plans, in collaboration with the Sales Representatives (SRS), to maximize secondary channel coverage within your designated region.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• 3 – 5 years’ work experience.
• Proven sales management experience, preferably in the bottled water or beverage industry.
• Strong background in key account management
• Outstanding leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve ambitious sales targets.
• Proficiency in market analysis and route planning
