Job Description
• Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed and passionate employee for the position of Senior Community Relations Officer to join the versatile Sustainability Team.
• Reporting to the Superintendent – Community Relations, you will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of LMC community development initiatives in the assigned zone aligned to Community Development Committee plan. Facilitate, promote, and negotiate community planning and development projects, stakeholder engagement, research, and analysis to keep project operations abreast with current and emerging social impacts.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
• Implementation and management of CR activities in the respective zone and provide technical support in the implementation of agriculture initiatives across zones.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports intended for various audiences including internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure Biodiversity is streamlined in different programme interventions.
• Facilitate Stakeholder engagement to build, foster and maintain relationships with various stakeholders and keep an updated stakeholder database to help identify engagement and other related opportunities.
• Implement community related activities under REDD Plus Project in the assigned zone.
• Provide adequate and timely logistical support to multiple events such as commemorative events, community meetings and public events.
• Improvement of stakeholder trust and confidence through effective communication and transparent engagement
• Mitigate Social risks and impacts
• Provide support in the promotion of agriculture programs in all program areas
• Management and effective resolution of Grievances

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Development studies/Social Work/Project Management or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Community Development at similar work level.
• Good understanding of local customs and practice.
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite application is added advantage
• Must hold a valid Zambian Driving license.
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
