Description
Coordinating all loadings and offloads at the depot:
• The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for efficiently coordinating the loading and offloading of goods at the depot. They ensure proper coordination with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and suppliers to facilitate smooth and timely loading and offloading operations.
2. Conducting daily as well as monthly stock counts:
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for conducting regular stock counts to maintain accurate inventory records. This includes performing daily stock counts to monitor stock levels on a daily basis and conducting monthly stock counts to reconcile physical stock with recorded quantities.
3. Warehouse supervision:
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler oversees the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. They manage warehouse personnel, ensuring proper storage, organization, and handling of goods. They enforce safety protocols, optimize space utilization, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the warehouse.
4. In charge of giving stock position on a daily basis:
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for monitoring stock levels and providing daily updates on the stock position. They keep track of stock availability, incoming shipments, and potential stock shortages or excesses. This information helps in effective inventory management and decision-making.
5. Supervise the cleaning of the warehouse:
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler oversees the cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse. They ensure that cleaning schedules are followed, monitor hygiene standards, and coordinate with cleaning staff to maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
6. Updating the bin cards daily and monthly
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for updating the bin cards regularly. This includes recording stock movements, updating quantities, and maintaining accurate information on the bin cards. Regular updates help in tracking inventory and ensuring accurate stock records.
7. Running errands to ZRA/Ministry of Mines, etc.:
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for handling various errands related to government agencies like the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) or the Ministry of Mines. This may involve tasks such as submitting documents, obtaining permits, or coordinating with authorities to fulfill regulatory requirements.
8. In charge of ensuring that the gates are functioning well: The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the warehouse gates. They conduct regular inspections, perform maintenance checks, and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that the gates are in good working condition, allowing for the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
9. In charge of ensuring only registered trucks are in the enclosed area: The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the enclosed area the warehouse. They verify the registration and authorization of trucks before allowing them entry, ensuring that only registered trucks are present in the enclosed area to maintain security and prevent unauthorized access.
10. Stock Position Report
The Logistics Officer/Warehouse Handler is responsible for preparing the stock position report. This report provides an overview of the current stock status, including quantities on hand, stock movements, and any significant changes or trends. The stock position report assists management in making informed decisions regarding inventory management, procurement, and supply chain operations.
11. Coordinating all loadings and offloads at the depot: This involves overseeing the process of loading and unloading goods at the depot, ensuring that it is carried out efficiently and safely. Warehouse supervision also involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the warehouse premises.

Requirements
• Full Grade Twelve Certificate with credits or better in English and Mathematics.
• Degree in Logistics and Transport or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Transport and Logistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suits.
